- Note: Aludium’s largest plant: a rolling slab foundry, hot and cold rolling mill and strip finishing shop. In 2016 a rotary furnace was commissioned, and in 2018–2019 a Hertwich Ecomelt PS-275 multi-chamber furnace was installed for EUR 20 million, with a throughput of 275 t per day and up to 55,000 t per year of painted and thin-walled scrap, which ordinary furnaces do not melt effectively. The investment reduced purchases of ingots from external suppliers and increased the share of remelted scrap by 300% compared with 2018. ASI Chain of Custody certificate No. 248 (DNV, valid 31.01.2023–30.01.2026) covers in Amorebieta “aluminium re-melting/refining casthouses”. The group declared 200 kt of recycling capacity in 2020 and 300 kt of throughput at three plants; in 2023 Aludium was taken over by the American Jupiter Aluminum.
