- Note: A foil and strip rolling mill on a site of over 110,000 m² in Sabiñánigo, with two product lines: FOIL with capacity of up to 20 kt per year and COIL up to 15 kt per year. Under the INTEGRA project the company commissioned its own casthouse converting aluminium scrap into secondary aluminium strip, which is then rolled on site – a fully integrated in-house supply chain, complemented by a zero waste system returning all aluminium waste. The group reports an 87% carbon footprint reduction relative to primary aluminium. Commissioning of the new recycling installation was confirmed by 2025 reports linking it to headcount growth to around 160 people; earlier, in January 2025, the circular economy project obtained administrative approvals. The casthouse's remelting capacity has not been announced – the tonnages given relate to rolling. Iberfoil is the foil arm of the Spanish Alibérico group; the Sabiñánigo plant in Aragon covers over 110 thousand m² and has four rolling mills and twelve annealing and heat treatment furnaces. The foil line covers thicknesses from 6 to 200 µm and has capacity of about 20 kt per year, and the parallel strip line (200 µm – 6 mm) about 40 kt, giving over 60 kt in total. Over 70% of output goes to export, to customers in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, beverages, construction, industry and advertising. The key investment is the “Edelweiss” cold rolling mill, the largest in Spain, running at 800 m/min with strip width up to 1750 mm; the Alibérico group declares its own capabilities in casthouse, recycling and continuous casting, but does not state the share of scrap in the foil charge.
